    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

    Can you please go to Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->Trace folder and tell me if you see a file labeled "trace.20130809.txt". If so can you please delete this file and let me know if you can then open NinjaTrader.

      No.

      I only see:

      trace.20130502

      and

      trace.20130503

      and

      Zen-Fire20130502.000

      in that folder?

        See my last post...but, if I went ahead and upgraded to 7...15 NT version would that fix it?

          Yes please upgrade to NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.15 with the steps I have provided below. With this procedure you will not lose any Workspaces, Charts, etc.
          • Close all running applications.
          • Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
          • From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
          • Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (with IE, Tools-->Options, delete cookies and files, clear history).
          • Reboot your machine.
          • Once these steps are completed, download NT 7.0.1000.15 from the link below:

          If the issue persists please send a note to [email protected] with "ATTN: Chris Jameson" in the subject line.

          In the message, please include the following:
          1.) A link to this forum thread.
          2.) Your most current trace and log files.

          You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7-> Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

          Log file will be located by going to Documents->NinjaTrader 7->Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt

            Hi Chris:

            I followed each step exactly. When I went to open NT after installing the new version it did open. However, absolutely none of my old setting, connections, workspaces, strategies, or even any of all my old backups or anything are there.

            Please help.

            Please advise.

                Update

                Hi guys:

                Luckily, I located a fairly recent backup that is not exact (but acceptable) which I used to restore!

                I am trying to locate the most recent backup I downloaded from a remote server in the past as well that would be ideal to use.

                So, the bottom line is that it is resolved but only after finding a backup. The steps used a couple of posts back (however) erased everything just FYI. I was lucky...just so you know for the and future people who see this thread.
