Cannot place FXCM orders

    Cannot place FXCM orders

    After connecting to FXCM and IB, I cannot place any orders to my FXCM account. I get the attached error message. But if I go into FXCM's Micro Trading Station and place the order, then I can place orders and manipulate the orders for that pair in NT again. Weird. What can I look at to see what the problem is?

    In the message, please include the following:
    1.) A link to this forum thread.
    2.) Your most current trace and log files.

    You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7-> Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

    Log file will be located by going to Documents->NinjaTrader 7->Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt

        I've been having this same issue with FXCM demo account. Could not trade 3 pairs, and the only way to fix it were to 1) reset instruments, which fixed 2 of the pairs, then 2) closed out all open charts in FXCM TradeStationWeb, which seemed to fix the 3rd pair. Not sure why this helped though. I use FXCM TSW to verify orders and executions, but don't trade from there.

        The only difference in my case, is that when I was having this problem, I couldn't even submit an order from FXCM, the option from the chart was greyed out and not available, until I did all of the above.

        I read that there is odd behavior when using NT and FXCM TradeStation at the same time, but since I'm not using FXCM to submit orders, just look at charts and look at account data, would that create an issue such as this?

          Thanks for your reply.

          In your example it may be related to that FXCM Trade Station will only allow 20 instruments to be displayed at a time. The limit may have been reached so closing the instruments allowed the data to then be available for other instruments.
          I believe if you contact FXCM they can disable this limit.

            I still have problems sometimes with some pairs not getting any realtime data and other pairs getting the data. I have 21 pairs enabled -- maybe I'll delete a few, but I've been using IB as my data feed broker anyway.

              Please answer the following if that does not work.

              1) What version of NinjaTrader are you using? (Example: 7.0.1000.15)

              * You can check under Help -> About

              2) What build of Traders Workstation are you using?

              * To verify what version of Traders Workstation you currently have log into Traders Workstation
              * Under Help go to About Traders Workstation...
              * Scroll down and look for Build
              3) Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?
