Real Time data not loading

    Real Time data not loading

    I'm having a problem with loading data. When I first bring up Ninja Trader I get historical server data. Then when I connect to my data provider (either or both) CQG or DTNIQ, I get no new data. It doesn't reload as it usually does and there is no real time data.

    I've tried resetting everything, Ninja Trader, the computer, the router and it still does not load data and does not go to real time.

    The connection status is green on both connections.

    Is anyone else having these problems?

    Thank you for contacting us to report the issue.



    Please follow the directions below.
    • Right click in your chart and select Data Series.
    • In the Data Series menu, set the "Session Template" property to "Default 24/7", then click OK.

      I tried what you asked for by selecting the "Default 24/7" and it made no difference.
      I've tried "Use Instrument Settings" and "Nymex Energy/Metals ETH" but no luck there either.

        Interesting, just tried Gold and its working. Seems to be a problem with Oil.
        I've tried the Sept, Oct and Nov contracts and they all have the same problem.
        Gold, Dec contract is working.

          Hello,

          Please select CL 09-13 and CL 10-13 in the Orders tab of the Control Center. Do you see updates to bid, ask and last price when the instruments are selected or is 'n/a' reported instead?

            Kyle,
            As I explained in the other thread, I now realize this is not a real time issue. I do get real time updates. The issue is a data GAP. And every time I select Reload Historical Data, it again starts at the session's end and plots real time data, just with a GAP.

            I've never seen this problem before.

              Hello Taddypole,

              Thank you for clarifying.

              Based on what you've outlined I suspect that this relates to the current merge policy setting. Please open the Options menu (Tools > Options) then navigate to the Data tab. Set Merge Policy to 'DoNotMerge' then click OK. Finally, reload the data in your charts.

                That did not help Kyle. I reset the merge policy to 'Do Not Merge' and Closed and restarted Ninja Trader with no change.

                It is now 11:20 PM. When I load the chart, it loads historical data up to 11:30 AM (The session close). Then I connect to my data server, and it starts plotting real time data with no historical data between 11:30 AM and 11:20 PM. ??

                  Kyle,

                  Finally decided it was a corrupt database and proceeded to do a Repair DB.
                  That did the trick, I'm back up and running.

                    No real time data for 6N contract

                    I'm having a problem with loading data. When I first bring up Ninja Trader every other contract instrument is working perfectly like 6E, 6B, etc., expect for 6N, historical data is also loading expect for real time data, real time is only loaded till when i run NT and there is no real time data. and when i check the quote price for the 6N it shows n/a. and the contract which i m using is 03-14

                    The connection status is green on both connections.

                        Oh sorry wrote twice instead of once. i am using only CQG and it is showing in green Connected-CQG. and i m only using 1 connection.

                              Hi all,

                              For anyone wondering about the resolution with the 6N instrument not getting live data. This was due to the subscription to the broker not including this instrument.
