    SMA & EMA on RSI

    Hi,
Iam using NT 6.5 (Of course the outdated version But my datafeed provider only supports 6.5). i want to plot RSI 14 with SMA 8 and EMA34 on same pane..
Ive searched the forum for the same but BT6.5 Dos'nt support such facility.
So can anyone please give me a solution for the same.

    regards

    Santosh

    Hello Santosh,

You will be able to right click inside of the chart, select Indicators, highlight the indicator(s), and in the right hand side change the "Panel" to "2" or your desired Panel number.

Here is a link to our Help Guide on NinjaTrader 6.5 that you may view for reference.

      Thanks NinjaTrader_JC,

With that setting i am only able to set the only SMA (which comes as a default with NT6.5) but when i want to add an EMA to it on Pane 2 selected I get my RSI chart disturbed.. Attached is a screenshot.

While adding RSI indicator (Pane 2) :http://my.jetscreenshot.com/20953/20...-t2ys-53kb.jpg

While adding EMA on RSI (On same RSI Pane-2) : http://my.jetscreenshot.com/20953/20...-cznl-60kb.jpg

      Regards.

        Hello Santosh,

That is going to be due to the RSI is only going to give you values between 0 - 100, and the SMA is going to be based on the actual price of the Instrument/Data Series.

This is why by default the SMA is set to plot on the same panel as the Instrument/Data Series and the RSI is going to be plotting on a new panel by default.

If you do not want them to be disturbed you may want to have them plot on different panels or plot the SMA on the same panel as the Instrument/Data Series.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

            Hello Santosh,

Yes, that is possible and it is possible to do without any custom programming by changing the Panel each one is set to but you will still get the same issue of the chart being distorted since SMA and EMA are going to be price based.
