    blank charts

    I'm having problem with loading charts.

    Demo ninjatrader account with mirus futures.

    When I open my default layout, the charts load.

    If I try to load a new chart of the ES or 6b though, in whatever timeframe, I get a blank chart.
    For some reason, it is allowing me to load a new CL chart, but it has to me in minutes 'timeframe. If I want it to show the data series in anything else (a tick chart for example) once again get a blank chart.

    Thank you for your post.



    Please reset your instruments with the steps I have provided below:
    • Disconnect
    • Tools
    • Options
    • Data tab
    • Reset Instruments
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    • Reconnect
    • Open a new ES 09-13 or 6B 09-13 chart with no template attached
    Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

          Hi again, Christopher.

          That seems to have only been a temporary fix.
          It happened again shortly after I thought it was fixed. But I was able to work around it and make it work by, once again, following the instructions you gave.

          However, as of this morning, even doing that doesn't seem to fix the blank chart.

          I can't seem to open up a new chart of any instrument in any time frame or other data series.
          However, all charts in my default layout still load phone when I start up ninjatrader....??....

            Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris Jameson" in the subject line.

            In the message, please include the following:
            1.) A link to this forum thread.
            2.) Your most current trace and log files.

            You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7-> Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

            Log file will be located by going to Documents->NinjaTrader 7->Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt

              I've tried yahoo and hotmail. Both say that the txt files are too big to send?!

              edit. I sent the log file.
              Trace file too big to send

                • Press "Go"
                • Press "Add Files"
                • Browse to: (My) Documents - > NinjaTrader 7 -> trace

                  Deleted the cache folder after closing ninjatrader, but the problems remain.

                      Very strange.
                      Seems almost random.
                      This morning, for example, it's letting my open an NQ tick chart, and change it too a minute chart as well.
                      But if I try to open up a 2nd chart (so that 2 charts are open) i'm getting the same blank chart. Even if I try to open up 2 NQ charts, only one will show data.

                      Only the little 'abort' box which I think is always there?

                      edit: closed ninja and reopened about 4 times now, and for this second at least, i'm able to open all the charts I need. I'll save the template and hopefully that'll fix it at least for now!

                        • Close NinjaTrader
                        • Documents
                        • NinjaTrader 7
                        • Workspaces
                        • Select all files and move to another location on your PC such as your Desktop
                        • Restart NinjaTrader

                        Next open a few new charts with no template or indicators applied and tell me if you receive data successfully.

                          Followed these steps, and for now, at least, it is receiving data successfully.

                            I would suggest now adding your indicators one at a time to narrow down if a specific indicator is possibly causing the issue.

                            After data is loaded there should be nothing displayed in the lower right hand corner of the Control Center.
