    NinjaTrader application has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    I tried to login to my account and had the same issue as:


    I can not get Ninja to start. After the splash screen it displays the message:
    Ninjatrader application has encountered....

    I am hoping to get this resolved quickly because I am unable to trade. Hopefully, this can be resolved without losing my data and settings this time.

    So I will have my trace, log files, and anything else needed ready to send when I get a reply.

    Also, if it makes any difference this computer with the issue is running XP and I believe it was release 14.

    Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris Jameson" in the subject line.

    In the message, please include the following:
    1.) A link to this forum thread.
    2.) Your most current trace and log files.

    You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7-> Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

    Log file will be located by going to Documents->NinjaTrader 7->Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt

      Hello Christopher,

      Thank you for your quick response. I wanted to reply here, so maybe someone else who runs into this issue may be helped as well.

      I believe I was able to identify the problem.

      I was using an older computer that started out as my backup for Ninjatrader when I had the "...encountered a problem..." issue and after posting here, noticed that my hard drive was nearly full. I deleted some old files, about 100 MB worth so far, and tried Ninja again, and this time I was able to login. So with that I will keeping trying for a couple of days and if the issue doesn't come up again, I will determine that was the cause of the error.

      I will post again to follow up with what I found.
