Minor Import Issue

Hello,

Based on what you've outlined here, ES 03-03 data would be available to you starting in early December. As I recall, this is when the contract would open so data from November likely relates to the 12-02 expiry.

I think I may have messed something up - now whenever I try to load any ES tick chart for any date its giving me the message "error on loading chart data for "ES 09-03 Globex" unknown instrument" How do I fix this one?

When receiving this message are you loading the ES 09-03 on your chart?

Did you set up the ES 09-03 in the Contract Months window (Tools > Instrument Manager > search for the instrument > double click ont eh instrument > when the Instrument Editor loads please go to the Misc tab > scroll down to the bottom of the Misc tab > then left click Contract Months > and then the '...' button)?

Do you have data imported for the ES 09-03?

Hi Sir, no, that error message occurrs when I load any of the ES contracts for 2013, ES 09-13, ES 06-13 or ES 03-13.

Load a chart for ES 03-03 with the end date of the chart set to the last day you have historical data for the ES 03-03.

Who are you connected to when you receive this message? This is displayed by green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

I was able to get rid of this error message thankfully, but question, how do I get the ES 12-13 symbol to show up in the list? Also I dont even have the ES 03-03 symbol either, is there a way for me to get that symbol to appear in my strategy analyzer? Thats 2013 and 2003.

Hi Elitetradernyc,

You can add the instrument contract through the Instrument Manager to the default instrument list.

Additionally. as long as you have the 03-03 contract defined for the ES instrument, you can select <On the Fly> from the strategy analyzer and type in the instrument through the back test settings.

Sorry about this, I was able to add ES 12-13 through the instrument manager but now whenever I try to chart the ES for more than 3 days it gives me an error message "ES 06-13 Globex unable to load historical data unknown instrument" It works as long as the end date is 09/13/2013 and the chart only loads 3 days of tick data for betterenko.

Elitetradernyc,

This error is being caused by your merge policies or incorrect rollover dates setup for the instrument.

I would adjust these accordingly to test.

Merge policy can be found by Tools -> Options -> Data Tab

Additionally, try testing this on only having one chart open and one workspace.
