Unable to delete saved backtest results

I've done lot of backtesting and saved many results. I decided to do some house cleaning, but found that deletion of the saved backtest results no longer worked, It used to a while back.

After the failed deletion, StrategyAnalyzer would hang and never came back on any new run of backtest. From the output window, I knew the test already completed, but the UI continued to show "Backtest in progress...." I also found errors under the log of ControlCenter. I suspect that some saved data might have been corrupted.

If I exit and restart NT, everything appears to back to normal and working. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix the problem? Thanks.

    Hi Cartoosh,

    Thank you for posting.

Is this a new strategy or one that you have worked with before?

If its one you've worked with before have you made modifications to the code?

      Hi,

      Thank you for replying.
Over the last two weeks, I've made many changes to the strategy and run many backtests.

        Cartoosh,

Have you saved the strategy parameters as a default before?

If you're not sure you can check the templates folder by -

        (My) Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> templates -> strategy

I recommend deleting the strategy template as the modifications could have corrupted the XML file when being loaded.

Let me know how this works out

The only template I have is under Chart, which I created at one point when I was investigating the backtest result. Should I remove it?

            Cartoosh,

You do not need to delete the chart template.

Instead, let's reset your database to clear out the back test results.

Please follow the instructions below to repair the NinjaTrader database.

Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
            Select the "Data" tab
            Press the "Reset DB" button
            Press the "OK" button

You will want to restart NinjaTrader to ensure these changes took affect.
