I would like to run a simple strategy on the 5 minute timeframe.

Which Mirus VPS server package would you suggest ?

I do not intend to backtest on the VPS server.
Am I right if I believe, that the smallest "VIRTUAL PRIVATE SERVER - MEDIUM PACKAGE" would do the trick ?
I have not done any measurements, I thought I ask before I jump into it...

You will see a minimum requirement of 2 GB RAM, so I would suggest the virtual private server - xl package or higher.

It looks like SpeedyTradingServers might be the partner of Mirus..., as the offers seem to be similar. I had not directly compared the offers before.

Unfortunately I am not sure if Mirus has SpeedyTradingServers as partner. However it seems to be the case as the offers are the same as Harry mentions. I suggest to check with Mirus Futures for clarification.

I remain under 2 GB on windows Vista running 8 charts with a strategy with 3-6 indicators per chart.. "medium" should work in your case...

so if your strategy is truly simple, you should be okay.... if not - bump it up...

my laptop is 2008 with 3gb vista on dual core intel 1.6ghz..

It really depends on what you intend to do.

If you just want to do automated trading and let a simple strategy run, then 1 GByte of RAM should be enough. If you use complex indicators with 300 plots on fast tick or Renko charts with a lookback of 1 year, then you will require a little bit more RAM.
I would simply start with the smallest VPS, and then upgrade if it does not work.
