    Recommended Processor Speed

Hey guys, if we have NT running on a server with Xeon processors, whats the recommended or minimum processor speed or is that even important?

    Hello elitetradernyc,

    Thanks for your post.

Any recent Xeon processor should surpass the minimum PC requirements.
The minimum PC requirement for the processor is an Intel Pentium 4 equivalent processor or better.
Below I have provided a link to our Minimum PC Requirements.

        Hello Thomas79,

        Thank you for your post.

Generally, when thinking about a processor for NinjaTrader, the faster the processor is, the better. I believe that this processor meets our minimum requirements but a faster processor speed would result in more optimal performance of the platform.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Depends on what you are trying to do?

          It beats out a P4 1.40ghz

Not sure what OS and how much memory you are using, but it is cutting it extremely close.

I have an AMD C-50 on a low end laptop and I wouldn't even think of using it.

I have a 3.00 gb vista laptop with a T5450. It handles 9 charts with standard EMA's/SMA's and NT supplied indicators without issue, with ThinkOrSwim running it's own chart on the side.

So you should be okay, if you keep things pretty simple/basic. Optimizations might take forever.
