What happens with NT's email server?

Hi Ninjas,

I've upgraded NT to the version 7.0.1000.16 and something happens with the email alert service. I understand if you leave in blank, NT's email servers will be used to send emails. In the last version 7.0.1000.15 this feature worked pretty good, so, question:

In the last NT version have I set an own email server ( for example gmail ) in order to get this service back on again?

How must I set if I wanted to continue using NT's server for this purpose?

Thank you for your post.

NinjaTrader would have always used the email account defined as default on the PC when sending mail. The software does not actually include an email service itself. In any case, it will be possible to use NinjaTrader with your gmail account however some basic configuration must be done. I don't understand quite well what you say, because until this morning I've been using the email alert service ( through NinjaTrader server, when you leave in blank ) and just setting your mail where the alerts will be sent to.

After the upgrade of NT version this morning, I couldn't resume this service once again, so, this means that in this last version of NT, you must set your smtp server and account ?

To use NinjaTrader with your gmail account the steps which are outlined at the link I provided in my last post must be taken.

Yes I know, I thank your hint but you've not answered the question:

Why now must I set my outgoing emails server ( gmail ), when always NinjaTrader's servers as outgoing email has always worked pretty good?
