    NT Charts showing me tomorrow's date, data discrepancy with IB TWS charts

    Dear NT support,

    I am new to NT and I am finding my charts to have great discrepancy with my broker (IB TWS) charts, both for FX & Futures.

    Firstly, on a EUR/USD daily chart on NT, it shows the latest day's data labeled as tomorrow's data. In the screenshot (today is 19 Nov)

    Secondly, for the ES 03-14 charts, the data discrepancy is quite big.

    Can someone from NT please explain this (the dates & data discrepancies) or what I need to do to have the data synched?

      Hello,

      Thank you for your post.

      Please close NinjaTrader and sync your PC clock by double clicking on the clock in the lower right corner of your desktop. Once you have done that, click on Internet Time tab-->Change Settings-->Select time.nist.gov from the drop down menu and then click Update.
      The PC clock should now be updated and you may restart NinjaTrader.

      Next right mouse click within your Daily chart and select "Reload all historical data". If the issue persists please right click within your chart-->Data Series-->Session template-->Select "US Equities RTH" from the drop down then click Ok.

      The ES 12-13 contract is not scheduled to rollover until 12/12/2013. If you would like to view data for ES 03-14 without data from the current contract included please use the following steps to change the merge policy:
      • Tools-->Instrument Manager
      • Select ES
      • Edit
      • Definitions tab
      • Set the Merge policy to "DoNotMerge"
      • Click Ok
      • Click Ok

      Next right click within your ES 03-14 chart and select "Reload all historical data".

        Problem persists

        Hi Christopher,

        Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I took those steps to synch the PC clock (and restarted the PC) and the timing issue persists. Have attached a screenshot of the EUR/USD daily, please also note the date and time on my PC clock (nov 20) but NT charts show up to Nov 21st. And the data is still quite quite different from the IB chart.

          Does the issue persist when setting the session template to "US Equities RTH"?

            Yes, they persist when I change the session template.

            The data synchs when switching to the hourly charts of say EUR/USD from daily -- the data is exactly the same but the date labels are still incorrect on NT (i.e. showing a day in advance).

            Just fyi I am on GMT+8 timezone in case that is relevant.

              As a test can you please close NinjaTrader then set your PC clock to "(UTC -5) Eastern Time (US & Canada)."

              Next open NinjaTrader then reload data within your Daily chart and let me know if the date is displayed correctly.

                Hi Christopher,

                Success! After switching the time on my PC clock, the date shows up correctly on the NT chart labels. And the data is exactly that of the data feed charts (IB TWS), on the daily and houly, so excellent. However this doesn't strike me as a long-term solution - what do you recommend?


                Also, for charts on ES 12-13, the data is still quite discrepant from the TWS chart's data-- no progress on this yet.

                  When loading your Forex charts can you tell me what session template is selected.

                  Also can you please attach a screen shot of the chart discrepancy you are seeing for the ES 12-13 contract so I may look into the issue further.
