    Connecting to datafeed

After downloading Ninja trader I used the standard method for connecting data feed. That is first making the "Account Connections" via the tools menu and then connecting to the data feed via the File menu. I have tried retrieving data from yahoo, google but not data is being imported and therefore, i cannot see any graphs.

I have also tried connecting to Kinetick (free feed), but no data is being imported.

    Help would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Adnan Khurshid

I'm reviewing currency (any currency). I have tried multiple time intervals i.e., 1 min, 5 min, 60 min. However i see that when i access chart properties via File menu and then New Chart, and review the properties window after selecting a currency, then under the "Day" heading it gives days to load "5"

Please help so that i can use the charts, which are currently blank and nor do i see any data feed running on the main interface (Orders Tab)

        Hello Adnap,

        Thanks for your reply.

Yahoo and Google only support equities. Yahoo, Google, and Kinetick End Of Day (Free) only support historical daily interval data.
With the Kinetick End Of Day (free) connection please try to open a daily chart.

Below I have provided a link to our NinjaTrader 7 Tips - Using Kinetick - End Of Day (Free) YouTube video.

            Thanks for your reply.

Can I clarify are you referring to when using the Kinetick End Of Day Free connection or did you try creating a real time/intraday connection?
Are you connected at a home or business location?
How are you connected to the internet; wired, wireless, 4g card?

I'm just using the in built "Kinetick End Of Day Free connection" over wifi i.e., wireless. I'm on my personal computer.

I have had no issues with internet connections !

                Hello Adnan,

                Thanks for your reply.

Please exit NinjaTrader and restart your modem/router.
If you have an anti virus/firewall installed please add NinjaTrader to it's exceptions list.
You will need to exclude the following directories.
                C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7 or C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 7
                (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7
If you can hardwire your system I would recommend to give that a try also.

                    Hello,
I restarted the wireless modem and then disabled my antivirus. It worked.

One last thing. I want to access the Point and figure chart patterns! I accessed them after going to "Period" tab on the data series window and choose point and figure. A graph was returned, which resembled the candle stick (w/o the sticks) bars. I did not see "X" 's and "O" 's.

Is there any way of clarifying this?

Ok, i get it. Just have to play with the properties to get correct view of X's and O's. Thanks for all the help!
