Where do BuyStop orders "Sit"

Hello, i know that BUYSTOP orders in Ninja sit "locally" on my PC, for futures trading, so that if my internet connection goes down these stop orders become dead.

But what about for FOREX trading using ninja, do my BUYSTOP (and also STOPLIMIT) orders sit locally or do they sit on my broker's server?

My forex broker is FXCM.

Thank you for your post.

First let me clarify that your orders will not be dead if the connection goes down. Those orders are submitted and received via the broker's servers and remain there.

However, with FXCM connection, the OCO handling is held locally. Meaning if your internet connection goes down, and one of your orders gets filled, NinjaTrader will not receive this signal from the broker and therefore not submit the cancel order for the other order. This leaves room to potentially get both orders for the BUYSTOP to get filled.
