NT wants to re-install itself when I try to start it up?

    NT wants to re-install itself when I try to start it up?

    I double click the icon and it starts to go through it's install mode. I cancel it. I do the same thing again. What might be wrong?

    Btw It is already installed so it shouldn't be doing this at all.

      Hello BottomShark77,

      Thank you for your post.

      Are you running the shortcut to the NinjaTrader application, or are you running the Setup.exe file which you used to install NinjaTrader? During installation, NinjaTrader will add two shortcuts to your desktop - NinjaTrader, and NinjaTrader (64 bit). Running either of these will launch NinjaTrader. Once NinjaTrader is installed, you can safely delete the Setup.exe file.

      Additionally, you can go to the Windows Start Menu -> All Programs -> NinjaTrader 7, and launch either the 32bit or 64bit version directly from this folder. You can right click on these shortcuts, and select "Pin to Taskbar" or "Pin to Start Menu" to create a shortcut in either the Windows Taskbar, or the Start Menu.

      Please let me know if the above solutions resolve your issue.

        I've been double clicking the desktop icon as I always do. I will try something else to see if it works.

          Okay, tried to start NT from Start, programs, and for the 64 bit it says "The item "NinjaTrader.exe" that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly"
          Do you want to delete this shortcut? (I did not delete it).

          I try the 32 bit and it starts to install itself. I always start NT from the icon on the desktop

            If I try to pin NT to Start Menu or Taskbar it does the same thing as what I just wrote in my last post.

              Btw NT was working fine about 6 hours ago. I haven't done anything to change anything. :-(

                  Hello BottomShark77,

                  What version of Windows are you running?

                  Go to the Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features, and select NinjaTrader from the list of installed programs. Right click on NinjaTrader, and select "Repair". This will begin a repair installation of NinjaTrader.

                  Once the repair installation is complete, are you able to start NinjaTrader?

                  If not, please send an email to [email protected] with your log and trace files for today attached.

                  You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> Log folder.

                  * The log file will be named "log.20131209.txt"

                  You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> Trace folder.

                  * The trace file will be named "trace.20131209.txt"

                  Please reference ticket # 967236 in the body of your email.

                        I am having the same issue.
                        But I am still using Windows XP and repair doesn't work. I get the attached error messages.
                        I need help.
