Backup Archive change

Hello,
can I set the Archive storage or place permanently in order to avoid setting it every time I am making a backup?

For example I am using my Network Storage do backup NT data: \\NAS\Ninjatrader\NT backup\...... It would be helpful having this data set permanently.

Hello Trader108,

You will only be able to set change it for the instance of the Backup, but you would not be able to change this permanently as it will be set to (My) Documents -> NinjaTrader Backup folder.

This is a great suggestion and I will submit it to our Development team for feedback on the next major release of NinjaTrader.

I know this is an old thread, however I wanted to make a suggestion for future inquiries...

Maintaining backups are important to me as well. This is what I've done in order to secure/backup my NinjaTrader data. Do note, I use a BSD/UNIX based server to backup/snapshot all of my data, but I'm sure the same steps listed below could work for any backup utility that's able to access a MS Windows network shared folder.

Under the folder properties of the NinjaTrader 7 data folder in your Documents, select the share option and share this folder with yourself. Do the same in the security tab as well.

For example, I share this respective folder.

C:\Users\UserName\Documents\NinjaTrader 7

Once this is done, you can access the shared NinjaTrader folder via the network ...

\\Computer\NinjaTrader

I use rsync + a cronjob on my UNIX box to pull the data into my server which runs a zfs snapshot along with a TAR/ZIP script to compress the NJ data and store it in a backup folder nightly.

The same could be done with a Windows Server/Desktop using any paid or opensource automated backup software.
