    Data Feed randomly dead at times

    Not sure where to put this.

    I have CQG data feed

    Not infrequently when I go to load a chart the data will not load. Historical will not load either. The chart is blank.

    I may have 4 other charts active so it is not a connection problem with CQG.

    It does not seem to be specific to a unique instrument. Yesterday it was GC and today it is 6S.

    In addition, the same thing happens sometimes when I start up a Strategy in the Control Center Strategy Tab. Sometimes the strategy simply will not load data. The Log shows that it started, but the Intialize code it never executed...not sure what this means, but I imagine that the data feed is dead and no ticks are coming over to activate the Strategy.

    So, it seems it is the same as when the chart will not load data.

    If I shut down Ninja and restart often it will load the data. But sometimes I simply have to wait.

    I am running NT 64 on Windows 8, Asus N56. Resources are not the problem!

    Please advise

    I have another system on the side, that runs my monitor charts. The data feed there would be working, for 6S or GC, for example, on CQG. The main difference is, on this system I do not open and close charts. The charts on the monitor system are running all week and only shut down on the weekends. I have no problem there. So, it is not that the server feed is down.

    In the message, please include the following:


    1.) A link to this forum thread.
    2.) Please let me know the following:
    • What version of NinjaTrader are you using? You can check under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X)
    • (For a chart) what interval is selected? (Example: 1 minute, 4 range, 89 tick, 1 day etc...)
    • Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?



    3.) Please submit your latest log and trace file:
    You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
    • The log file will be named "log.20131217.txt"


    You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
    • The trace file will be named "trace.20131217.txt"
