Is it possible get better orders cancellation time?

The script runs in unmanaged approach for max. flexibility and velocity. One important aspect when reversing positions is cancelling the stop orders. I've seen that generally it takes rougly a second or more, which I think is interfering with normal development of the others orders.

Is it possible to get better times? or it depends absolutly on ADLS provider, your broker and the exchange connection ?

Thanks for note.

You are correct, in that your internet speed, broker, and the exchange will all be factors in the speed it takes for a cancellation to take place.

Another consideration is the speed of the market. In a slow moving market a cancellation will take longer than in a fast moving market.

Just to confirm (as I know we've been talking about OnExecution in other threads) you are triggering the cancel in OnExecution and there aren't any loops or other processing thats done before the cancellation is set correct?

That's correct Chelsea, just the confirmation that the main order was Filled, then it triggers directly the cancellation

Yeah, so this is going to come down to internet/broker/exchange speed as well as how fast the market is moving.

A 10 Mb ADSL connection is not good enough or do you think that's advisable to get more?

10Mbps is plenty and isn't going to be the limiting factor here.

How far are you from the exchange that you are trading on?

Pretty far :-) I live in Europe ( Spain) and I trade now the S&P500 E-mini futures contract in CME ( Globex )

That's going to be limiting factor no matter how fast your internet speed is.

You might look into a co-located server that's located next to the exchange your trading.
