Cannot Set Custom Fibonacci Retracement Parameters

Hello. I am having trouble setting my Fibonacci retracement tool. I am trying to change the colors, and the values of levels so they are ready for use.

I am going to "properties", setting up the Fibs the way I want them (changing colors, and levels) and then I hit "apply". The changes are made on the Fib Retracements that I have just completed. Then, when I go to use the Fibonacci Retracement tool again, the default values replace my custom values.

I have been using this feature for a long time on my other computer, but this is the first time I am trading on my laptop, so obviously I am missing something.

How can I make my Custom Fibonacci Retracement settings available for use every time I choose to use the Fibonacci Retracement drawing object?

    Hello vern13,

Thank you for your forum post.

Within NinjaTrader 7 you may change settings for the Fibonacci drawing tool and save templates with the steps provided below.
    1. Double left mouse click on the diagonal line connecting your points which will open the Fibonacci Retracement Properties window
    2. Make any changes within the properties window
    3. Click Apply
    4. Right mouse click within your Fibonacci Properties window
    5. Manage Templates
    6. Name your template
    7. Click Save

You may save your Template with the name Default to be used automatically
I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over Drawing Tools and Objects.

        Deviation too high

Hello, I have custom fibonacci indicator and when i bring it up on the chart i get a message on the lower right corner saying "TopDogFibs can not plot any values since the deviation value is too large. Please reduce it." What does this mean?

          Hello vlad546,

Thank you for your forum post.

Does this custom Fibonacci indicator use a parameter for deviation value? If so, you can try to reduce the parameter.

For example: If the deviation value is set to 0.5 you can test further by setting it to 0.001.

If this does not help to resolve the situation, I can investigate the error further on my end.

Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Ryan L." in the subject line.
