amp and ninjatrader

one of the many switching from mirus to another broker this case amp.

does anyone happen to know why amp charges $60/qtr, $55/semi annually or $50 annually to use the ninjatrader platform? if you use a different platform do they still charge for all 3rd party platforms.

I would call them but they are closed.

I am pretty sure that is to Lease it in case you dont own the software already.........

This is the Full Version..... Mirus used to offer the Direct edition which was crippled (did not have all features) for free.... With AMP its not available.... You have to Own or Lease the software

If you already have a license for ninja, pick the free edition under your platform setup. That way they won't charge you a second time. If you don't want to use the paid edition at all pick the free edition. If you don't have a paid license key but want one and want to be charged thru your broker (AMP) then pick the paid edition. If you want to pay your license key thru ninja rather than thru AMP then pick the free edition and set up your account with Ninja. It all works out.

yes I agree that's what I thought and since I already pay ninja for using their platform it looks like a double dip, I don't see a way around it , it is part of amps sign up/platform selection page, where you also chose data feed etc. (this is the step right after your funds have been transferred to amp clearing)

ok must admit I am confused I thought Ray said in today's webinar that the free edition is the scaled down version that for example does not contain atm stragtegies.

Not true. Just select "Direct Edition (Free)" if you already have a license thru Ninja for the full version. The licensing is handled by Ninja so if you have a full version license you will still have a full version license. Pick the free edition on your AMP platform setup and you will be fine.

ok thanks will do, should have known that $50 annually to lease ninjatrader was too good to be true, I was ready to stop my quarterly payment to ninja as it is considerably more than $50 per year.

It's confusing how they have it listed, but the fee is the same per month. If you pay quarterly thru NT is $180 which works out to $60/mo. If you pay semiannually you save $5 a month and if you pay annually you save $10 a month. All the same for the full version.

Does the Direct Edition of NinjaTrader through AMP with the CQG feed allow access to the Chart Trader? The Direct Edition through Mirus did. Thanks.
