You can select the bar width under DataSeries, when you set up your chart.

Once the chart is set up, you can hold down the ALT button and adjust the bar width with arrows up and down.

doesn't work for a strategy analyzer chart?

thanks, that works for a standalone chart. however not for a strategy analyzer chart because the analyzer chart data series choice is muted?

        Hello joemiller,

        Thanks for your reply.

Holding ALT on your key board and pressing the up and down arrows option will work in the Strategy Analyzer
You can also click on the Chart Style button on the Chart Toolbar and select Bar Width+

that doesn't work for me. works only for heiken ashi bars, and then only for the body of the bar, not for the wicks. and it is the wicks that are hard to see..

            Hello joemiller,

            Thanks for your reply.

For Candlestick Wick width what you can do is create a chart with the settings your would like to use in the Strategy Analyzer
Once you have the chart set up right click on it and select Templates> Save As
Enter a name and press OK
Now on your Strategy Analyzer chart you can right click on it and select Templates> Load to load the saved settings

my problem is I have not yet been able, under any circumstances, to thicken a bar wick. the wick is therefore always difficult to see. if I understand correctly, the template solution will no resolve my issue?

thanks Brandon. please bear with me one more time, before I spend more time mickey-mousing around with this.

I do not understand how, if I have never been able to display a chart with thickened wicks, those non-existent thick wicks can be saved in a template?

                    Hello joemiller,

                    Thanks for your reply.

You will need to follow the steps in my video so that you can make the wicks thicker. Once your complete those steps you will be able to save the settings as a template and apply it into the Strategy Analyzer chart.

Hi I want to add: the OHLC open and close is almost invisible especially when you have indicators such moving averages on the chart. It's there a way to "stretch" the open and close to make them more visible or does exist an indicator with a better bar chart dispay?

                        Hello murena80,

                        Thanks for your post.

If you are wanting to make the lines thicker you can right click on your chart and select Indicators
Select the indicator you want to adjust and click the + button under Plots for any plots to then be able to adjust it's width

Here is an indicator that displays OHLC for the current day.

OHLC are shown as hoirzontal lines and can be either displayed for the regular session (see chart attached) or the full session. The thickness and width of the lines can be adjusted.

Thank you very much Harry but I was referring to another issue regarding the width of the bar chart's open and close lines that I would like to be more pronounced like in the blue rectangle on the below pic because when you have moving averages on the charts and you get an open on the ma you can't see it. Again, thanks for your input, I appreciate.

You can not make the open and close longer but you can make the OHLC bars wider by holding the ALT key on your keyboard and pressing the down arrow on the keyboard.
