    Reset instrument database

I have added a few thousand instruments to the database. I would like to reset the database into default, so all those instruments are removed. I have tried to reset db from the options>data tab but that doesnt work. Any idea?

    Hello siroki,

    Thank you for your post.

Resetting the instrument list would not remove instruments which you have added to NinjaTrader. Instead this option would force all instruments which are included with NinjaTrader by default to adopt their original settings.

In your case, I would recommend that you instead rename the NinjaTrader database. Doing so will cause NinjaTrader to create a new database on start up. In this process, ATM strategy templates, custom session templates, custom instruments and instrument lists would be cleared.
    To rename the database:
    • Shutdown NinjaTrader.
    • Open the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > DB folder.
    • Right click on NinjaTrader.sdf and select "Rename." *
    • Rename the file 'OLDNinjaTrader.sdf'.
    • Finally, restart NinjaTrader.
