View longer time frame but update every minute??

    Hello,
I'm new to NT. I'd like to configure charts that show weeks or months time period, but the only way I can see to do that is to select bars large size bars.
Is it possible to view a longer time frame but have the chart update by minute or tick?
Im actually using a line chart, not bars, so crunched bars is not a problem. I just need my line to update in real time.
You can do this in Trader Workstation chart.
    Thanks

Make CalculateOnBarClose false on your chart.

      Hello lurky,

      Thank you for your note.

There is a limit to how much you can horizontally compress your chart in NinjaTrader, even when using the Line on Close chart type.
If you use a minute or tick type chart, you will only be able to see a limited amount of the total time frame specified by the start and end dates in your Data Series settings unless you scroll horizontally or expand your chart window horizontally.

Please let me know if I can further assist.

Hi, is CalculateOnBarClose something I can configure from the chart properties or an indicator code that has to be inserted?
        Thanks

Both. The GUI setting will be dominant if you put the COBC setting in the Initialize() method of an indicator.
