Problem with candles getting all funky after I shrink and stretch chart

This problem is very annoying to me, and I wonder if there is a solution.

When I open a new chart, my candles look normal. They are set at the perfect size and shape. But during the course of the day, i will shrink and stretch the chart to see previous support, etc. But once I do that, I can't get my normal looking candles back.

The candles either become all mushed together-looking, or they look very thin and narrow.

I have attempted to go into settings and change the bar width, but doing this doesn't get me back to normal. The only way I can get back to normal is to close out the chart, and open a new chart, in which case I lose my drawings.

    Thanks.

    Hello patpat,

    Thank you for your post.

Do you notice a 'F' button on the upper right side of the chart? If you do please try clicking on this button to instate automatic scaling in the chart as I think this may help.

Hi I just had the problem happen to me again. I opened a new chart, and the candles were normal. I then switched from candlesticks to "line on close". When I switched back to candlesticks again, my candles were all funky. No amount of readjustment could get them to look normal. Either fat and mushy or thin and narrow. The F setting was turned off, so automatic scaling was in effect. Any other ideas? Thank you.

I am pretty sure this happens when I stretch and shrink, too. I don't thin it's just a problem that comes up after switching temporarily to line on close.

          Hello,

Please provide me with an image of the chart.

To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and attach the file to your reply.

I tried to attach it to this message, not sure if it worked.

                Hello,

Thank you for getting back to me. I see what you mean now.
                .
Once the original scale has been adjusted there is no way to snap back to the default spacing. You would need to adjust manually or open a new chart.

that's a great idea, thanks. I was aware of this function, but never used it. That might be the ticket!
