    There can only be one CQG adapter

    I'm trying to connect to a demo account and I keep getting this error "cwg: There only can be on CQG adapter running at any time(LoginFailed)" I tried reinstalling NT and restarting the computer but the problem still occurs.

    Please contact me at Support AT NinjaTrader DOT com. In the message please include a link to this forum thread and a copy of today's trace file. The file is located in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder. I would need the 'trace.20140206.txt' file.

        Hello Andre,

        Can you please send us your Log and Trace file from today. Refer to this post and send it to support at ninjatrader dot com.

        You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
        • The log file will be named "log.20140221.txt"

        You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
        • The trace file will be named "trace.20140221.txt"

          The issue with Andre was solved by upgrading to our current release (V7.0.1000.21 as of today 21/2/14)

              Can you please reboot your machine and then send your configuration file to [platformsupport at ninjtrader dot com]

              Refer to this post and put in the subject 'For Vince'.

              • You will find your configuration file in the following directory:
              • (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7\config.xml

              Once located, please attach the config.xml file to the email

                one more reason to switch brokers ?

                i am running vista.
                i reinstalled ninja version 22 and thought it was fixed.
                i tried disconnecting from broker, cqg, before shutting down, then reconnecting when i opened ninja back up, that worked sometime too. but not always.
                atleast i am not the only one with this problem.
                i can connect to IB just fine.
                is there a work around?
                have you found a solution to this yet, support.?
                is this a problem mainly from CQG, and would switching to a diff data/broker help?

                  Hello lightfoot500,

                  Thanks for your post.

                  This is typically either a cause of a corrupt upgrade in which you need to uninstall/reinstall or a second attempt at a log in with bad log in credentials (often auto connect is the first attempt)
                  to look into this further you will need to email your config file to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com so we can test it on our end.

                    is there a way to disconnect the 'autoconnect' feature so i can try that on my end ?
                    or is there a way to download version 22 again to reinstall ?

                      Thanks for your reply.

                      You can uncheck Connect On Start Up under Tools> Account Connections
                      Select your account and press Change
                      Select Next
                      Uncheck Connect On Start Up
                      Restart NinjaTrader and attempt to connect
                      If you get and different error such as your log in credentials being incorrect you will need to contact your broker to verify your log in credentials and update them in NinjaTrader

                      Downgrading would not resolve this. If it is from a corrupt install you would need to uninstall and reinstall. This would not affect your NinjaTrader settings/files.

                        one more thing

                        another thing i have noticed is that it seems to take longer and longer to load Ninja.
                        could it be that i have too much data history ?
                        and that added time to load causes the connection to time out ?

                          That could be a reason, however we would like to take a look at your Trace file for this.
                          If you can send today's file to us we can further investigate.
