    Data Series & Indicator

    Hi all,

I want to know if the following method of calculation is possible in Ninja Trader.

    - Scenario: Same instrument (GBP/USD), multiple time frames (overlaid on top of each other through data series). For example: 60, 15, 5, 1 minute all overlaid on top of each other on the same panel).
    - Indicator calculation: Is it possible to have one indicator (say volume or a support/resistance indicator) do the calculation on all of these time frames (as defined in the data series) and display the results for each individual time frame within the same panel?
    * If the results are for volume for example, to show all of the results in one new panel instead of 4. If it is calculating support/resistance, to show them all on the same chart.

When I have multiple time frames on the data series, whichever indicator is selected, it always computes the results on the first time frame on the list of data series and ignores the other ones.

    Thank you!

    Hello forexpx,

    Thank you for your post.

Manually this is possible by adding the the desired indicators multiple times to the chart (as many times as the number of Bar Series on the chart) > then right click in the chart > select Indicators > and set each indicator Panel 2 and then set the desired Input series for each indicator.
For information on the Indicator Parameters please visit the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...indicators.htm

It is also possible to develop a custom indicator that incorporated the multiple time frames (Bar Series) and then plotted the lines for each Bar Series calculations of the volume or support and resistance.
If you would like to take on learning NinjaScript to develop such an indicator, we have a fully documented help guide which will help you get started with Ninja Script. You will find language references to all of the methods and functions you will be using. You will also see a tutorial section which will help you create your first indicator and get you started with some of these concepts.
A link to our Help Guide can be found below: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...stribution.htm

I am also linking you to the Educational Resources section of the Help Guide to help you get started with NinjaScript: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h..._resources.htm

      Single panel view

      Thank you for the reply,

Rather than show the studies on different panels within each data series, I want to have four data series overlaid on one another and have the indicator results show in one single panel, not multiple panels.

The indicator is a custom their party indicator and I do not have the ability to code it or make changes to it.

I want to have four charts, all overlaid on one another (not showing in new panels) and I want the indicator to be applied to each time frame on the data series within one single panel.
