Please tell me how to save my drawings on a S&P daily chart

    Please tell me how to save my drawings on a S&P daily chart

    I searched the forum, but all related questions were more complicated than mine.

    I just want to know, please, step-by-step, how to save my chart drawings on a particular chart so I can refer back to it the next time I open NT.

    Do I save the drawings from the control center, or do I save from the chart itself?

    When I close out the control center, there is always a question about saving changes.
    Do I click yes or no? Or does this not apply to the chart drawings, and instead refers to something else?

    Hello patpat,

    Thanks for your post.

    Your drawing objects will be saved with your Workspace.
    You must leave the chart open with the drawing objects and go to File> Workspaces> Save
    NinjaTrader will also ask if you want to save your workspace when you exit

      so you're saying that while I have my chart open with the lines draw on it, I go to control center, I click save as (let's say, save as "pretty chart"), and then I close out the control center, and say, yes, to save changes. Then later after my nap, i wake up, and I open the control center, and I click on file, and open "pretty charts", and my lines on my ES chart will still be there? I won't just get a new ES chart, and have to draw the lines over again? Because it seems to me the latter has been my experience. But I will try again. Thanks for your reply. patpat

        Hello patpat,

        Your understanding is correct. If you follow that process you should see the settings saved and reloaded automatically as NinjaTrader restarts.

            Sorry for opening up an old thread but I cannot seem to find the solution to this.

            I save my workspace every time I leave NT but when I re-open my drawings are not there. What am I doing wrong that my drawings are not being saved when I save the workspace?

              Hello severdog, thank you for posting!

              Please answer the following questions so that I may assist further.

              What version of NinjaTrader are you using? This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.X or 8.0.X.0)

              Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

              Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

                Hello Riley-

                1) 8.0.6.1 64-bit (Multi-Broker)

                2) Connection is MyCQG

                3) Don't see any particular errors. Only occasional connection lost issues when I try to "sleep" the machine.

                  Hello severdog, thank you for posting back up.

                  I wouldn't recommend using Sleep/Hibernate modes while using NinjaTrader as they are unsupported.

                  In addition, I would advise that you update your NinjaTrader 8 platform to the most current version.
                  To upgrade NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below.

                  First, get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
                  Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
                  Enter your license key and press Submit
                  Select 'NinjaTrader 8' if you are on NinjaTrader 8.
                  Select 'Download'
                  Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

                  Please let us know if you continue to experience difficulties while using NinjaTrader.
