    Charts Not Reloading

    I haven't turned on my platform for about 3 months. When I went to connect to my broker (Gain) I was able to connect but the charts would not update. It would load today's data but the then next bar was the last time I connected about 3 months ago. No matter how many times I clicked "Reload Historical Data" it still didn't help. Trying to open a new chart didn't help. I updated to the lastest version (7.21) of NT. Didn't help. What do I need to do to get to it update the charts. Thanks.

    Thanks for your post.

    At this time the historical data servers that we provide for Gain are down.
    You may switch to Gain's historical data servers however they only provide 1 day of historical data.
    To do this disconnect and go to Tools> Account Connections
    Select your Gain account and press change
    Select Next
    Check Gain for historical data

    Server maintenance can only be done on the weekends and over the weekend our server team will be working at getting the Gain servers back up.

        Thanks for the follow up.


        The historical data server is still down and you will need to remain on the GAIN historical servers until until further notice.


        You can set NinjaTrader to record real-time data as historical to workaround the historical data limitation from GAIN:
        • Control Center > Tools > Options...
        • Data tab
        • Under Real-time data > Check "Save chart data as historical"
        • Click OK when finished.

          Is there any estimated fix for this? Recording historical data is not an option for trading larger time frames in which you need historical data for technical analysis.

            I do not have an estimated fix for when the historical data server will have this data restored.


            I will follow up with my IT manager on the status and post a follow up on this forum thread.

                Thanks for your reply.

                There is no ETA for when the servers will be back up. Maintenance will continue this weekend in getting the servers back up. The only official word I can say is they will be down until further notice.

                  Am I the only NT customer that uses Gain? I'm still trying to wrap my head around how that a tech company that can't provide their core business (charting) only works on the problem (server) once a week with no estimation of when they will get the problem fixed. Mind truly blown.

                    Thanks for your reply.

                    The servers can only be worked on weekends as other issues would occur if they were worked on during the week. Gain provides you with 1 day of historical data. The additional data the is provided by the NinjaTrader servers is complimentary to all Gain users with NinjaTrader.
                    It is recommend to have a backup data feed for time in which there can be issues with your connections data feed.
                    I would recommend taking into consideration a backup data feed such as kinetick which will allow you to backfill data and be a solution for the future also.
