Data error messages + excess data

    Hi everyone

It may be easier to roll two questions into one as the situations depend on my recent 'history' with NT so I can explain this just once.

My data feed has always been with Kinetick.

I initially ran a realtime Kinetick feed from January 2012 to September 2013. Then after a gap of four months (when I wasn't trading) I've restarted the same feed this month.

I no longer need the data before last September, esp. as Kinetick now supply 180 days of backfill.

My last backup just with the old data was about 2GB. The backup I've just performed is 2GB plus change (a few MBs). So obviously I still have most or all of the old data.

I thought I'd got rid of the old data - but I don't think I have.

Question 1: How can I definitively get rid of all the old data?

Question 2: Please see the image. The instrument on most of my charts is ^DJIA (the Dow cash). Yet, as the image shows, for each chart with this instrument, I get an error message reading "Error on loading chart for 'DJIA Nyse': Error on loading historical data (20013)" This must have something to do with my data history. How can I resolve this problem?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hello arbuthnot,

    1) Please delete your historical data using the instructions provided at the following page of the NinjaTrader Help Guide:
    Removing Historical Data

Once the data has been deleted close NinjaTrader. Open the Documents\NinjaTrader7\db\cache folder. Select all files then right mouse click and select “delete.”

Open NinjaTrader and connect to your data provider. Open an new chart.

    2) Please disconnect from Kinetick, reset the instruments and restart NinjaTrader.

To reset your instruments please: go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Data tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'.
