    Order Linking

    Hi guys,

I have a strategy I'd like to build in NinjaTrader but would, for testing purposes, like to test it first if possible using ATM.
Basically I will set a buy stop (manually), and then be the first on the offer a tick or two above my buy stop. When the trades go well, it's awesome, because I don't have to do anything; I just set those 2 orders and they both get filled pretty closely together without me interacting at all. However, when it doesn't, I now have to manually back out of the trade and then cancel the offer.
I would like to place my buy stop on the Super DOM as well as my offer, then when the buy stop is filled, have ATM set the stop loss 2 ticks below my entry, and link the stop loss and offer as OCO.
The reason I ask here is because I know I can have it set a profit target and stop loss AFTER I get filled, but in this case I need to be the first on the offer, therefore, I need to place the offer and the buy stop at the same time, then later modify (can't use standard ATM).

    Can I do this?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

From the sound of it ATM Strategies would not meet your needs here as these strategies must see confirmation that the entry order has filled before submitting the Stop Loss and Profit Target order(s).

Can NT link a resting order with another order as OCO with NinjaScript? If so, where can I find more information on this? A quick google search just now didn't turn up something immediately.

        Hello,

For an OCO pair to be created, OCO must be enabled before the first order in the group is submitted.

I don't understand what you're saying. You're saying for an OCO pair you must have 2 orders placed simultaneously to begin with? Maybe in NT, but in what the exchange allows, this is not true. I use X_Trader and am able to link an existing order with another order as OCO. I don't know if that's what you're saying, but I thought I'd clarify if so.

            Hello,

I am reporting that you must turn on OCO before you submit an order if you wish to link other orders to it. It is not possible to submit an order, then enable OCO to link another order to the first order you submitted.

So you're saying I have to submit a one-sided OCO order first?

                Hello,

If you intend to use OCO, that would be a required step.

Ok, where is the documentation on using OCO orders in NinjaScript?

No, I mean in C#, not through the DOM

You would only be able to use OCO with Unmanaged Approach orders -

So, as you said earlier, I would create a one-sided OCO and then use the OCOId parameter to link them later upon submitting the second order?
