    Removing old accounts

    My accounts list is littered with live and demo accounts which I no longer use or need. I cannot figure out how to remove them. They do not appear in the chart trader accounts dropdown list but are everywhere else.

    How do I remove old accounts?

    Hello seahn,

    Thanks for your post.

    If you want to remove them from your connections you can go to Tools> Account Connections
    Select the account and press Remove

    If you want to remove them from the Account Performance you would have to reset your database file. Doing this will erase all historical trade information from NinjaTrader.

    To do this disconnect and go to Tools> Options> Data> ResetDB

      I have already removed them from my account connections but they still appear in account lists, for example in a strategy setup dialog all the accounts I have ever had are listed even if I have removed them from the connections.

          I do not know how to create a screenshot. But if you go to the "Strategies" tab, right click for the pop up menu, select "New Strategy", under "General" there is an "Account" drop down list. On that list is every account I have ever had (dozens) even if I have removed the account from my connections list.

          Hope this is clear what I mean, sorry for no screenshot.

            The first thing I would recommend doing is trying to repair the database
            To do this disconnect and go to Tools> Options> Data> RepairDB
            Restart and test

              I also have same issue, the OP is speaking of account ID# such as U117xxx in the drop down when setting up strategies....

                  Hi, repaired DB they are still in my strategy - using the $ strategy on chart adjust drop downs and account field there are several accounts, I use only one now. Can not seem to delete them manually either

                    To clarify, are these simulation accounts you had created or old accounts from past connections?

                    If they are simulation accounts you can remove these by going to Tools> Options> Simulator> Accounts
                    Select the account you want to delete and press Remove

                    Otherwise the next step to attempt would be the database reset

                    Please follow the instructions below to reset the NinjaTrader database.

                    Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
                    From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
                    Select the "Data" tab
                    Press the "Reset DB" button
                    Press the "OK" button
                    The following data will be removed:

                    Historical orders
                    Historical executions
                    Historical ATM strategy data
                    The following data will be maintained:

                    ATM strategy templates
                    Historical chart data

                      I tried what you said they did not remove... not big deal at all
