    ASX 200 Futures(AP) with CQG

    Hi,

I am using NinjaTrader with CQG connection.

It has ASX 200 Futures data for free. But, i can not find the symbol (AP) in ninjatrader.

How do i add the symbol in?

    thanks

    Hello AutoTraderOne,

NinjaTrader comes pre-loaded with the most commonly traded instruments however, you may find the need to add an additional instrument. Please follow the instructions below to add an instrument in the Instrument Manager.

From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
    Press the "New" button
*Enter in instrument specific information and select the appropriate exchange (add Default exchange for equities in addition to the actual exchange)
Fill in any relevant information under the "Misc" tab such as symbol mapping for your target connectivity provider
    Press the "OK" button

The instrument is now added to the master instrument list. Please follow the instructions below if you want to add this instrument to an instrument list.

Select the instrument list you wish to add the instrument to via the "Instrument lists" drop down list in the upper left hand corner
Select the exchange (Default recommend for equities) as this will route orders to your broker smart routing system
Select the appropriate expiration date if this is a futures instrument
Press the "<" button to add the instrument to the list
You are now complete and can press the "OK" button.

      Hi,

I put 'AP' in master instrument. then select 'sfe' as exchange, data source is CQG. when i tried to load a chart for AP 3-14, it says ninja server does not support this symbol. do you keep asx 200 futures data from CQG in your historical data server or i have a wrong symbol?

        Hello,

NinjaTrader data servers do not collect data for this instrument and as a result, no historical data will be available. These settings should allow you to access real-time data however.

            Hello,

Please provide me with an image of the settings which you have added for the instrument.

To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

AP is in instrument manager as SPI for SPI 200 futures

I have tried SPI. It has realtime data, but only for the regula hour. So, I believe SPI is stock index, not the index futures.

Here is the images of setting

Create extended trading hours in session manager for full trading session.Look up contract specifications on the SFE(Sydney Futures Exchange) web site for overnight trading hours. SPI means share price index, in other words, futures. You'll get there.

                    Hello AutoTraderOne,

The Session Template applied to a chart will control the time frame that data is display on the chart for.

You can select the Session Template in the Data Series window. The Data Series window is the window that first opens when opening a new chart. You can access the Data Series window on an open chart by right clicking on the chart and selecting Data Series. Once in the Data Series window select Session template, select a template and press OK.

You can view/edit/create Session Templates in the Session Manager window. Below is link to the Session Manager section of our help guide.

                          Hello AutoTraderOne,

The SPI symbol is for the SFE SPI 200 (TM) Index Futures

                            AutoTrader,

Experiment with the Session Manager to setup what you want. See attached as example.

                              thank you very much. rt-trader.

I use the default 24/7 session setting. it works. but yours should be more precise.
