    live connection to broker simulation acct failed?

    i have almost completed a live connection to interactive brokers

    everything has gone ok until my first connection test, resulting in
    the pop up message ''login failed. unable to login. incorrect login/password?''

    i am trying to connect to a SIMULATION account. is that ok?

    You can connect to an Interactive Brokers demo account in NinjaTrader.

    This message indicates you have entered in an incorrect username or password.

    Please recreate the connection and try again.

    Please ensure you have not included any extra spaces in front of or behind the username or password.

      shall I just start the creation process like I did the first time?

        Hello joemiller,

        You can either create a new connection or re-enter the username and password for the IB connection you have created.

        The following link will take you to a page that details the steps required for creating a connection to Interactive Brokers and specific connection configuration information.

          orders created on NT chart not transmitting to intractive brokers?

          thanks Christopher,

          that's fixed, I can now connect to interactive brokers [IB].

          I created a buy limit order from an NT chart but the order has not appeared
          on any IB tab display ... such as the pending orders tab or the API tab.

          please advise

            Hello joemiller,

            Did you submit the order to your IB account or the Sim101 account?

            Did you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

              what is sim101?

              I have never heard of ''sim101' until now'.

              I set up the connection using the simulation account's userid and password and everything went smoothly.

              what is sim101?

                whoops! forgot Log tab

                forgot to look at Log tab of the Control Center. will do so and reply in a few minutes

                  log info

                  no errors appeared on the screen.

                  attached is an image of log entries for the order to buy ES at 1800 limit

                    note .... the order is still active at the moment [ie] ES price has never touched the limit buy price of 1800

                      Hello joemiller,

                      These orders were placed on the Sim101 account.

                      The Sim101 account is the simulated account built into NinjaTrader.

                      To send your orders to TWS you will need to select your Interactive Brokers account.

                      To have access to an account other than the Sim101 account you will need a live license key.



                      If you have a live licnese key, make sure your Live license is entered under Help -> License Key, then go to the File menu and uncheck Global Simulation Mode.

                      After this open up a SuperDOM window or Chart trader and you will be able to toggle between your Live account(s) and the Sim 101 account.

                        I do have a $995 live license key.

                        I remember now an email earlier today from kelli in sales which was probably telling me how to reset all the account stuff to live status like I think maybe you are telling me.

                        anyhow I will get to that soon as I can and let you know the outcome
