    New user question

I just downloaded and installed Ninjatrader. I connected to Kinetick Historical free data. I then went to Historical Data Manager, Download tab, selected a week worth of data in the past and clicked download. Nothing happened. Can you give me a step by step instruction on charting historical data? I understand chart settings, so just getting the chart up and running is fine.

    Thanks,
    Dana

    Hello,

    Thank you for your note.

The Kinetick End Of Day (Free) connection will only provide you with daily inteval charts.

To create a new chart with a daily interval go to File> New> Chart

Select an instrument and press New at the top right change Type to Day, Week, Month, or Year

Select OK and a daily interval chart will load.

Below I have provided a link to our YouTube video NinjaTrader 7 Tips - Using Kinetick - End Of Day (Free).

        Hello,

The 09-12 front month has expired, please use the most recent front month for this instrument.
        • ES 06-14.

Follow the instructions below to rollover the expiration date of a futures contracts.

From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
Highlight the contract you wish to rollover in the left side of the Instrument Manager window
Press the ">" button (the instrument will disappear from the list)
Press the "<" button and the instrument should re-appear with the front month expiration date
