Using IB sim account

Can NT use the IB sim account to place trades (for training), while still using the real IB account as data-feed ?

Yes, you can trade your IB paper account, however you would need to log in to this with your paper trading credentials that are provided by IB.
Furthermore you would need to have a Live license to trade the IB paper account.

I believe then that the real-time data feed will also be the IB paper trading account. Is this right ?

You mean the IB paper trading account I suppose. I ask that because I know that the IB paper trading account data feed is not as reliable as the "real" account, especially for the real-time data feed. But to do some paper trading, it will be enough for me.

PS: of course, it would have been better if NT would have been able to use the IB sim account for the trades, and the "real" IB account for the RT data-feed. But if I remember well when I have done some tests with NT (about 2 years ago), this is not feasible.
