    Chart trader...entering gtc orders?

I am using chart trader connected to interactive brokers [ib].

is there a way to tell ib that the order is gtc and not a day order
when the order is entered from chart trader? the only way I know of now is
to go to the ib screen and change it from day to gtc on that screen,
after it has been entered from chart trader.

    Hello joemiller,

    Thank you for your post.

You may set the Time in Force to GTC on Chart Trader by:
    • Click on the ATM Strategies Button "..." > TIF: > GTC > OK
    • Now when you submit orders on Chart Trader, they will be GTC (you do not have to use ATM Strategies for this to work)

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

thanks that worked, after I enter a '1' in the atm strategy window stop loss field ... after receiving a warning window message ''stop loss 1 missing''. but I didn't see any stop loss order entered as a result of that?

please send a link to somewhere that explains about the atm strategy window.

I see atm strategy window ''order qty'' fields. will setting those to a value mean it will be remembered from day to day ninja startup?

If you do not want to use an ATM Strategy please select "None" from the ATM Strategy drop down menu.

I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over ATM Strategy Parameters if you are interested in creating an ATM Strategy:

There currently is not an option to set a Default quantity within NinjaTrader however development has assigned this feature request ID #1063 in their tracking system.

regarding the answer in post#2 [ie]

is it possible to make the change to GTC permanent or must I do it on every ninja trader startup?

            Hello,

It is not possible to make a change to GTC permanent. This change must be remade with each restart of NinjaTrader.
