    Charts not updating

    my charts from time to time slip into a ‘’not updating’’ mode.
    I am connected to interactive brokers for chart trader order submission.

    do the directions in the 10-22-2007 Sticky: ‘’Charts not updating. What to do?’’ apply when I am in the configuration described above?

      how do I determine which template applies to the chart?

        Thank you for your response.

        If you refer to the Session Template then right click in your chart > select Data Series > then look at the Session Template setting. You can then go to Tools > Session Manager to view the Session Template information.

        If you refer to the Chart Template this is accessed when right clicking in your chart and selecting Template > Open. Or when creating a new chart under File > New > Chart and then check the Template field.

          I have 3 charts active [ie] ES 06-14, ES 09-14 and $EURUSD.
          session template for all 3 is '’use instrument settings’’, which I don't see in Tools > Session Manager.

          anyhow, shall I just go ahead and change all 3 to default 24x7?

            Hello joemiller,

            Thank you for your response.

            The Use Instrument Settings option uses the Session Template defined for the instrument. This is foudn when going to Tools > Instrument Manager > and then search for the instrumetn, select it and then select Edit. You will see the Session Template on the Definition tab.

            Please try setting your charts to the Default 24/7 Session Template, do you now see that data?

              before I do anything ... I have failed to say that typically all three charts will work fine for several hours then all 3 stop updating. that has occurred several time over the past few weeks. on other days there is never a problem. shall I still go ahead and change all to 24x7?

                Please send me your log and trace files for today so that I may look into what occurred. You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Support.
