DJTA Yahoo

Hi,

Today I wanted to look at daily data of the DJ Transportation Index. I had no problem with downloading Kinetick EOD data (the symbol mapping is DMT.X), but it only starts in 2002.

I know that Yahoo has data from 1928 and wanted to look at it. However I couldn't download the data. I tried to map for the yahoo data ^DJT, for the exchange I tried nyse, default, and both. I have no problem downloading other data from yahoo.

Can someone please tell me the correct configuration.

Which symbol did you use when mapping this symbol to Yahoo? Could you please provide me with a link to the Yahoo Finance page which you pulled the symbol from?

Hi Kyle,

I used the DJTA symbol and ^DJT as yahoo mapping. I don't know how NT pulls the data from yahoo, whether it scraps the table or whether there is a csv link?

Hello Marco,

Unfortunately index data is not supported with Yahoo in NinjaTrader, only stocks. See the link below under 'Understanding the data provided by your connectivity provider' which will list all supported data feed providers and what data they support.

I didn't remember this limitation. I wonder however why I was able to download some indexes in the past. I remember that I had no issues with ^FCHI daily data from yahoo dating back to 1990.

I may end up downloading the yahoo .csv formatting it and import manually in NT.

Yes, historical data can be loaded for some indices with Yahoo, but it is not officially supported.
