When I place an order via the ATI COMMAND function, supplying it with an order ID of say "12345," a different, normal-looking order ID shows up in the NinjaTrader interface. However, when I iterate through the open orders via the ATI "Orders" function, the original order ID I passed the COMMAND function shows up. What's the difference? Why does NT show two different IDs?
I'd like to use these order IDs as an alternative to automated trade management, encoding information into them, but I'm concerned this might just be something that only happens in simulation. If I go live will the "Orders" function still show me the "internal" order I assigned it? Will I be able to change/cancel orders with this "internal" ID and will they be reflected at the brokerage?
