    Ninjatrader downloads data from start every time.

    Hello,

    I am using ninjatrader with kinetick. And for some strange reason its downloading the data from start everytime i connect to the servers. Please help Its same for both es and crude, and in both instruments i am trying to download 30 days of data. Thanks.

    Thank you for your forum post.


    This situation sounds to be expected when connecting to a data provider.

    Do you have NinjaTrader set to get data from server?
    • Control Center > Tools > Options...
    • Data tab
    • Under Historical chart data > Is "Get data from server (if available)" checked?
    • You can uncheck this option to force your data feed connection to not load data from the server when you connect.
    • Click OK when finished.



    If you uncheck the option to get data from server, you will need to right mouse click on each chart you wish to load current data on > Reload all historical data.

      this is not usual as in past it only downloaded data it needed, if i started ninja at market open and closed and again started at noon it would only download for that few hours, but now its downloading for entire 30 days every time i start ninja. please advice.

      PS: Also If i open chart without connecting to data provider all the data is there, Just when connecting to data provider it starts downloading data all over again.

        Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Ryan L." in the subject line.

        In the message, please include the following:
        1.) A link to this forum thread.
        2.) Your latest log and trace file:
        You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
        • The log file will be named "log.20140415.txt"


        You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
        • The trace file will be named "trace.20140415.txt"

            Turn off the option to download from server.

                  To troubleshoot downloading NinjaTrader, please follow the instructions below to accomplish a successful download of the NinjaTrader application.
                  • Within your web browser (Internet Explorer for most users) select the menu Tools > Internet Options
                  • Delete your browsing history
                  • Attempt the download again

                  If the above does not work then try:
                  • Repeat above instructions
                  • Use a different browser such as Firefox and attempt to download



                  If the above fails, please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Ryan L." in the subject line.

                  In the message, please include the following:
                  1.) A link to this forum thread.
