    MB Trading Not Connecting

    Hello,

    I have been having an issue where my NinjaTrader will not connect with my Broker. (MB Trading).

    Here are the details as to what is happening:

    NinjaTrader (Demo Account) has been setup properly according to the instructions to connect to my broker.
    Broker (Also Demo Account) is setup just fine as there is not much to be done on that side besides have the the most recent version of MBT navigator installed on your machine.

    When clicking File> Connect> MB Trading - I get the following errror
    "Login Failed: Most likely you do not have installed the recommended version of MBT Navigator.
    Please download from www.ninjatrader.com.
    Exception: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often a"

    -----The error is cutoff and am not able to see the rest-----
    I attempt to connect once more by clicking File> Connect> MB Trading
    This time it appears to work except in the bottom right hand corner it says...
    "Connecting-MB Trading". It continues to say that and never changes.

    I end up closing down NinjaTrader and it tells me the NinjaTrader application has stopped working and is searching for a solution.

    I am at my wits and cannot tell where the issue is.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!

    This message almost certainly means that you have an unsupported version of MBT Navigator installed. What version of MBT Navigator do you have? The required version for NinjaTrader is 11.9.0.44.

    If you do not have this version, please uninstall your current version and download the required version from our MB Trading connection guide at the link below.



    Please let me know if you are unable to get up and running after reinstalling the required version of MBT Navigator.

      Thank Zack for the quick reply. I have checked the version, and am running the latest.
      I will preform a re-install as I checked the NinjaTrader logs and I think its referencing a different version if im not mistaken.

      I will update this when I am done.

        Thank you for your response.

        To be clear, you will want to make sure you have the version required for NinjaTrader, which is 11.9.0.44. I'm not sure if this is the latest version of MBT Navigator or not, but this is the version required for NinjaTrader.

          Thanks Zach. I had the most recent version but I was running MBT Desktop Pro which doesn't look like its compatible with NinjaTrader. After re-installing just plain MBT Desktop it worked just fine.

              Hello,

              I am having also problems to connect.

              I downloaded the two softwares.



              I have a real account with MBT but its not possible for me to connect.

              Also I dont understand the difference between the Navigator and the Desktop software.

              Your link to download the navigator Version 11.9.0.44 is the MBT Desktop version.

                  I am connected. MB Desctop has to be closed. You could write that in your manual please. Or I didn´t see it. However. I am connected.

                      MBT desktop pro

                      Hello Ninjatrader,
                      As it is now you have to have an outdated MBT desktop version to connect using NT
                      Are there any plans to make NT function with MBTradings Desktop Pro as the current release is at 2.2.0.62?

                        Thank you for your post and feedback.

                        When possible, we update our supported version at regular intervals with each new NinjaTrader release. Due to the number of releases, we may be behind their current release, simply because we may not update our platform at the same time they do. It is also important to note that we can only begin testing new versions of MBT Navigator once those releases have been publicly made available, this also contributes to the time required to update our supported version.

                          Hi Zach what about with NT8?
                          I ask because you state that NT "when possible" updates??
                          The current version of the plain MBT destop was last updated to the current version 12.0.0.48
                          10/18/2013
                          Almost a year ago.

                          Not to mention why is NT not able to deal with and connect with the MBT Desktop Pro which is much more recent and up to date current release
                          2.2.0.62
                          released 7/14/2014
                          Just seems like if it is supported should be on the current version of either.

                            Hello,

                            Thank you for your response.

                            NinjaTrader 7 uses a specific API for MBT. I don't work on our development team, but I'm sure that this probably has something to do with the version of MB Trader that is required.

                            NinjaTrader 8 had been updated to the latest MBT API, although I cannot yet comment on whether or not it will be compatible with Desktop Pro.
