    Connection problem between IB data and NinjaTrader

    Hi there,

    When a data connection is attempted between Ninja and IB TWS (both programs which are up and running), TWS will repeatedly prompt for a login and password, without ever establishing a data connection with NT.

    Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

    TWS version: 944.3c
    NinjaTrader: 64 bit 7.0.1000.22
    OS: Windows 7

    Thanks for your post.

    Can you double check in your IB account connection and see if you have 'connect on startup' enabled. If you have, can you please uncheck this and then exit and restart NT and connect again.

        Hello Achilles,

        Please do the following and let us know if this corrects your issue:
        - Remove your IB account connection
        - Exit NinjaTrader
        - Uninstall TWS
        - Reinstall TWS by downloading it from our website here:

        - Recreate your IB account connection by following the instructions listed on the same page in the link above
        - Connect

          Problem persists. Followed instructions exactly.

          I created two NT connection profiles - one that included IB username and password (sensitive information....is this even safe to share?????). And a second profile that did not. No change.

            Hello Achilles,

            Please follow these instructions:
            1. Open TWS. In menu bar click Configure and proceed as outlined below:
            2. Global Configuration–>Configuration--> Display-->Settings
            3. On the right panel in "Titlebar text" there is a edit box.
            4. Enter following into it:
              1. Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation
            5. Next, click on Configuration–> Display–> Style
            6. Check the setting: Use system title bar (Change requires a restart).



            If they are of no help, try bringing up TWS first and then connect to it.
