    Trades not showing on another computer

    Hi,

    i wonder if it is possible to see trades i've made (real and simulated) on different computers. Currently i can only see them on the computer were i placed those trades.

    Thank you in advance,

    Hello asana,

    Unfortunately this is not supported by default. You would need to copy over the database and replace your existing database. You can find the database at the location below.

    (My) Documents-->NinjaTrder 7-->db-->NinjaTrader.sdf file

    Besides trade history the database also contains:

    ATM Strategy templates
    Session templates
    Instrument Lists / Custom Instruments
    Saved Strategy Analyzer backtest results

    So these items will be replaced as well.

      Thanks Jason for your fast reply,

      do you know if it is possible to share this folder on the cloud (i.e. dropbox) so i can use it this database from different computers?

        Unfortunately this is not supported. The database file needs to reside in the (My) Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db folder, which in turn needs to reside locally on your computer.

            If you are using Windows 7 or later (not sure about Vista, as I ignored it), you can use mklink.exe to map the folder to your Dropbox folder.

            Think carefully about that, if you are going to have your computers simultaneously accessing a folder while trading. Potentially simultaneous write-access to databases is a subject that deserves careful handling, if you do not want to corrupt the database.
