    Right Panel Properties

    Hi Support and Community,

Right Panel Properties clarification needed.Particulary, the Margin Lower and Margin Higher. The Margin Type has two options: Percent and Points. Can someone please clarify, percent of what and points of what? What is the reference point?

    Thanks

    Hello Cachevery,

    Thank you for your post.

The percent is going to be based on the pixels with the chart while the points will be based on the Instruments point value.

The reference point is going to be the visible bars in the chart the highest point and the lowest point.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Hi Cal,how do i calculate the pixels on the chart. Is it dependant on the screen resolution, etc? So if i set ,for e.g.,lower margin to 5%,how much it would be in terms of pixels? Can you please give more on that?

      Thank you.

        Cachevery,

That would be dependent on the size of the chart that you create.
You can get the size of the Chart Panel with this unsupported method -

        Print(ChartControl.ChartPanel.Size.ToString());

Thanks,Cal,but let`s get back to the original question, before i move one with the tricks you suggest. How do i calculte the upper and lower margin in pixels/price?When i set the margin type with price and set it to 30 (FDAX instrument),it squishes the bars on the chart to the thin line.I assumed that 30 it was FDAX points,or setting it to 3 would be equivalent to 30 points in FDAX?I don`t get it.Same with percent, when i set it to 30,almost nothing hapeens,so 30 in pecrent would be equal to what?

            Cachevery,

The price is going to the be the instruments ticksize while the percent is going to be based off the size of the chart in pixels

Hi Cal,thanks ,it`s clear with the percent. But how 30 ticks on FDAX can squish the chart into a thin line? It`s only 15 points from above and 15 points from below,it turns out.

                Cachevery,

What about the Based On property in the Panel Properties?

                What is this set to?

                    Cachevery,

If the market price is not very volatile with the high and low, I.E. not trending up or down, then it could squish the price data.
