    Charting FXCM real-time price

    Hello,

    I'm using an FXCM demo connection. Ninjatrader connects without problem but when I want to chart for example $EURUSD (or EURUSD), the historical data displays correctly but :
    1/ A message appears in the Log tab saying "FXCM: Failed to subscribe to instrument '$EURUSD': Unknown OfferID / bad symbol map".
    2/ No new bars are created, real-time price is not displayed. It just stays at the last downloaded historical price.

    Any ideas?

    Hello supernatural,

    Please disconnect from FXCM, reset the instruments and restart NinjaTrader.

    To reset your instruments please: go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Data tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'.

      Hello ChristopherS,

      I spent a lot of time modifying informations on some instruments (for example setting the session template in US stocks and ETFs to 'US Equities RTH'). Will it be lost if I reset the instruments like you described?
      If yes, is there an other way of solving the problem, maybe by just modifying the information associated with the FXCM instruments instead? Or exporting my current instruments and importing them later?

        Resetting the instruments will reset the preloaded instruments to their default settings.

        Please send me your database file.

        You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Support, checking the box 'Database file'.

          Is there a way to do it myself? I may have to do it on a different installation of NinjaTrader and also again in the future for a different broker.

              Can you tell me what data are sent exactly when checking 'Database file', as I have some proprietary stuff implemented in NinjaScript?

                Hello supernatural,

                The following is stored in the database:

                ATM Strategy templates, Session templates, Instrument Lists / Custom Instruments, instrument settings, historical trade execution data, saved Strategy Analyzer backtest results.

                  Resolved by changing the symbol mapping for FXCM. Correct symbol mapping for EURUSD with FXCM is EUR/USD
