    Instrument Manager Instrumentlist import

    Hello,

I would like to an import a Instrumentlist into Instrument-Manager.

    The reason:

I have a large list of instruments in NT-Instrument Manager
I need to split this list because by my Broker (IB) is a limitation of historical Data
(60 Datasets in 10 Min.) If I have in example 3 lists than I can load the lists in Market
Analyzer in periods of time. So I can prevent the historical-Data-limitation.

if I could export(if possible) and import my large Instument list, so I can edit this in Excel csv or txt.. Maybe there is an interface definition. Example: AAPL, Exchange, IB-Properties. So I can make a list to Import. It would be very nice. So I can fast select which Symbols I need to import.

    Is tha possible.

    For help many thanks :-)

    Hi chartvisor,

Are you trying to import instruments that are not in the instrument manager? (I ask because AAPL is already in the instrument manager)

To do this, you will need to import each list by exchange (so all of the instruments on a common exchange at the same time).
Click File -> Utilities -> Import Stock Symbol List...

Are you trying to import and make an instrument list similar to the Default instrument list?
    This is not possible.

      Hi Chelsea,

      thank you for your reply,

      I need several small lists.
The large list is available in the Instrument Manager. There are 120 Symbols
I would have 3 lists with 40 Symbols.

      40 Stocks in list Stocksname1
      40 Stocks in list Stocksname2
      40 Stocks in list Stocksname3

If I do it manually than I have many many clicks.

I must locate and click on each symbol.
So I must delete each symbol from the large list and add it to a new list manually.

      It's not possible ? :-)

        Hi chartvisor,

That is correct, this will have to be done manually as there is not a way to import an instrument list.
