NT connection via proxy server

How can I define this configuration in the NT application?

Hello patbateman,

You should be able to use NinjaTrader through a proxy server as follows. These instructions ensure license verification does not fail.

Open the file C:\Program Files\<NinjaTrader Folder>\bin\NinjaTrader.exe.config using MS Notepad or any other text editor
Replace the text "False" with "True"
Save the file
Restart NinjaTrader

NinjaTrader will now use your PC settings for the proxy server.

Hello Jasen.

I tried to define, but I am a step before, the license verification does not work.
In the network trace I can see, that by trying to verificate it does not use the proxy. Is there any possibility to define this?
We are using a configuration script for setting the proxy not the manuelly entry in IE, maybe this it a problem, too.

Unfortunately I am not aware of a different way.

Yes, I suspect this is causing the issue. If you use the entry in IE instead, does the license verification work?

Hello,

I changed the settings in IE and now I can start till the message about "Youtube latest tipps...."
I can see some traffic over our proxy, but after klicking "ok", I will get an application crash.
I have found the following error information in the log file.


Unable to retrieve type infos from assembly 'NinjaTrader.Custom': System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The file cannot be found

Maybe it does not work with our kind of proxy and I have to bypass it, but if you can find any information about this error, it will be very helpfully.

Can you please send me the log and trace files. Log and trace files can be found at the following locations. Please attach the files in your email and send it to platformsupport [AT] ninjatrader [DOT] com. Put 'Att Jason, NT connection via proxy server' in the subject header.

C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->(My) Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Log--> log.20140724 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)
