set default account for NT ?

Hello,

I have the default NT account under Tools/Option/ATI set to my live trading account Uxxxxx.
Still ChartTrader, Jigsaw and indicators always start with the Sim101 account.
On every NT start or data reload I have to change on many charts and indicator settings manually from Sim101 to Uxxxxx account.

Guess NT always takes the first account in the alphabet.
My live account starts with Uxxxxx and the S from Sim101 comes before U ...

Is there a way to tell NT to use the live account Uxxxxx as default instead of Sim101 ?

Hello khe91,

Unfortunately the option in the Tools-->ATI-tab does not determine what account is selected in NinjaTrader order entry windows.

You are correct in your assumption - it works alphabetically. There is no workaround I can think of other than checking with your broker if your account name can be changed.

Turn off the option to always start in simulation mode. See picture.

Sorry to revive and old thread, but I have the same issue. It's a royal pain to have to go through all the chargtrader windows, DOM, etc., to change from Sim101 to my live account every time I start the platform. A year on, this still does not seem resolved? NJ should provide a way to select your default trading account, or at least, remember the charttrader and other account settings when you save the workspace, so please add my vote too.

Hello pjsmith,

I assume your account name starts with a letter than comes after the "s". If not, please proceed as follows.

Make sure 'Always start in simulation' is disabled at Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Simulator-tab.

Select your account in all NinjaTrader entry windows you like. Disconnect your data feed and restart NinjaTrader.

Once NinjaTrader is restarted, please check if the live account is selected once you are re-connected to your broker.

If your connection has 'Connect on startup' enabled, it will not work. If this is the case, please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Account Connections, highlight your connection and click Change. Click Next and uncheck 'Connect on startup'.
