Date output error

Brand new to NinjaTrader, coming over from Metastock. Anyways, I am using real time data through Kinetick and even using end of day data, I am seeing that instead of displaying today's date, it is displaying tomorrows date. For example, today is Aug 26th, during today's trading my bar had a corresponding date of Aug 27th. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you for your post.

Because NinjaTrader lists the closing date and time of a bar this indicates that the bar closes after midnight in your local timezone.

1.) Which timezone does your PC use?
2.) Which Session Template is used in your chart? To check, please right click and select Data Series - Session Template is listed on the right side of this menu.

I am EST, I am using the default, <use instrument setting>,which I assume is where the problem lies. Which one should I select, I trade stocks and ETF's no futures.

Since you're using the "<Use Instrument Settings>' template I also need to know which instrument is being displayed.

Hello,

Because the instrument is not one which is default to NinjaTrader I would also need to know which session template you have defined as the default for this instrument.

To check please open the Insturment Manager (Tools > Instrument Manager). Next, select the instrument 'Cien' from the list on the right and click Edit. The Session Template setting is shown in the Definition tab of the Instrument Editor window which will appear.

Thank you for getting back to me.

Please open NinjaTrader's Session Manager via the Tools > Session Manager option. In this menu, select the Default 24/7 template. Change the timezone which the template is based on to a UTC-4:00 based setting then click OK. Finally, return to your charts and reload data. As the bar session should now end at 11:00 PM in your timezone the bars should be marked with the current date.

Perfect that worked. Now the other issue is that the volume is not showing for today's date

Hello,

Please right click in the chart and select Indicators. In the Indicators menu select the VOL indicator from the list on the lower left. On the right side of the menu set 'Calculate on Bar Close' to False then click OK. After making this change you should see real-time updates to the VOL indicator.
