I got IQFeed - how to display a chart then ?

I started an IQfeed trial account to test both IQfeed and Ninja.

I'm able to connect to IQFeed (at least in the left botton corner of NT I can see in green "Connected - IQFeed")

However now I'm lost. I don't undestand how I can display everything I subscribed in IQFeed.

When chosing New - Chart I only see pre-configured NT lists. Nothing from IQFeed.

I belive that there should be an intermediate step like building a database or so, but I can't find any link and searching in Google I can't sort it out.

Could someone help directing me into the right link ?

Hello Automeq,

When you click File -> New -> Chart, look at the upper left corner of the chart. There is a text box where you can enter any symbol.

There is also an ellipsis button next to that if you want to look a symbol up.

There's no way to import automatically everything that we sybscribed in IQFeed ?

For example I subscribed all COMEX, ICE, NYMEX mini, Eurex and these are quite a lot of symbols. Do I have to do it one by one ? I was seeking an option where I could import import directly from IQFeed everything that is available.

Hi Automeq,

These instruments should already be in NinjaTrader.

You can switch to any of these instruments at any time by typing the symbol directly in to the chart and pressing enter.

When opening a new chart

• Click the ellipsis button search for the instrument
• Double click the search result row -> click the New button
• Click OK.

If you are referring to the Default Instrument list, this list does have to customized by you and you cannot import into this.

To modify this list, open the Instrument Manager.

• Search for an instrument -> click the left facing solid arrow
• Repeat for any other instruments you would like in the list
• Click OK

In the instrument manager (and New - Chart) I can only see the ones coming with NT in the instalation. Nothing of what I subscribed in IQFeed is there available, although I'm connected to them as we can see in the image.

Were they supposed to be there ?

After searching for a symbol, double click the search result row to return the symbol to the input box in the Data Series window.
